The Narita Gion Festival is a summer festival held every July in Narita, Chiba Prefecture, centered on Naritasan Shinshō-ji Temple and the local guardian deity. With a history of over 300 years, it is celebrated as a festival for Dainichi Nyorai, enshrined in the inner sanctuary of Naritasan's principal deity, Fudō Myō-ō. It takes place over three days—Friday, Saturday, and Sunday—near July 7th–9th, filling Narita's temple-gate town with excitement.

The festival's main highlight is the spectacular procession of ornate floats (dashi) and yatai. Ten floats from various neighborhoods parade along Naritasan's main approach and through the surrounding streets, performing a dramatic spinning maneuver known as "no-no-ji mawashi"—turning the float in the shape of the character の—accompanied by lively festival music. The sight of massive floats charging energetically through the hilly temple town is overwhelming.

During the festival, hundreds of thousands of tourists and worshippers crowd the area, making it a major local event tied to the pilgrimage culture of Naritasan Shinshō-ji. On the final day, all floats and yatai gather before the temple's main gate for the climactic "sō-biki" grand pull. Located close to Narita International Airport, it draws many visitors from Japan and abroad, ranking among the representative summer festivals of the Kantō region.
